Last week, the tech and home appliance industries were buzzing with excitement over the launch of a new product on November 7. This event not only introduced the Nut Pro2 smartphone but also unveiled a smart air purifier called "Breathing." As a home appliance editor, I've always been curious about how tech companies approach home appliances. In my daily work, I often recommend products from brands that are professional and reliable. When it comes to an air purifier, the first thing I look for is its ability to clean the air effectively. All other features should be built upon this core function—otherwise, they’re just empty promises.
The official specifications of this "Breathing" air purifier highlight a CADR value of over 800 m³/h, which means it can efficiently remove PM2.5, formaldehyde, and pollen. Additionally, the filter has a CCM value of more than 50,000 mg for particulate matter and over 4,000 mg for formaldehyde—far exceeding the national standards. It also offers excellent noise control, high-quality filters with strong dust-holding capacity, and smart, user-friendly features. Despite its advanced performance, the price is surprisingly affordable at just 3,499 yuan.
I’ve seen many tech companies make bold claims, so I was skeptical about this product. However, this “net-famous†air purifier recently underwent testing at the China National Grid Evaluation Center. Let’s see if it lives up to the hype and whether it's worth buying.
**Minimalist and Versatile Design**
Upon unboxing the Breathing air purifier, the first impression is simple yet elegant. The unit isn’t light, but the craftsmanship is meticulous. It features a clean white design with a rounded, minimalist look. There are no complicated buttons—most functions are located on the front panel, with a “Mode†button to switch between speed, sleep, auto, and manual settings. A child lock feature requires pressing both the mode and power buttons simultaneously. The filter indicator alerts you when it's time to replace the filter.
The back panel includes the power and Wi-Fi buttons. Connecting via the “Breathing†app is smooth—just long-press the Wi-Fi button, and you’ll hear a “click†sound as it connects to your 2.4G network. Compared to other smart home devices, the setup here is very user-friendly.
Through the app, you can monitor indoor air quality and even check the air conditions in your area. You can also rename the device, turn off the display, or activate the child lock—all easier than using physical buttons. The interface is intuitive and well-designed.
**Ultra-High Purification Efficiency**
To achieve a CADR of over 800 m³/h, the air purifier must have a powerful motor, efficient airflow system, and high-quality filters. The Breathing model uses a high-performance DC brushless motor with a lifespan of up to 20,000 hours. Its backward centrifugal fan and three-sided intake design maximize airflow while minimizing noise. The materials used are also designed to reduce sound, allowing for strong purification without excessive noise.
In terms of filtration, the outermost layer is a removable dust filter, making cleaning easy. Inside, the purifier uses a composite filter from 3M and Toray, which is about 305mm x 305mm x 370mm and weighs 3.4kg. This filter consists of three layers: a 60-mesh PET pre-filter, an H13 HEPA filter for fine particles, and an activated carbon layer to absorb harmful gases like formaldehyde and VOCs.
**Real-World Performance Test**
To test the purifier’s effectiveness, we created a polluted indoor environment by burning several cigarettes in a sealed room. Initially, the PM2.5 level was 17μg/m³, and PM10 was 39μg/m³. After turning on the purifier at maximum speed, the air quality improved rapidly. Within 21 minutes, the PM2.5 dropped to 5μg/m³, and PM10 to 13μg/m³—showing impressive efficiency.
During the test, we could feel the airflow even in the corners of the room, but the noise level remained acceptable. At maximum speed, the noise was around 67.5dB, which is quite reasonable for such a high CADR value.
**Excellent Noise Control and Energy Efficiency**
Many air purifiers boast high CADR values but struggle with noise. The Breathing model, however, manages to balance performance with quiet operation. Its DC motor not only reduces noise but also saves energy. The design and materials further enhance noise reduction, ensuring a peaceful environment while maintaining strong purification capabilities.
At 34.4dB in sleep mode and 67.5dB in high-speed mode, the Breathing purifier performs exceptionally well. Even in low-noise mode, the airflow remains strong enough to circulate air effectively.
**Final Thoughts**
After thorough testing, the Breathing air purifier exceeds expectations in every aspect. It delivers powerful air purification, smart connectivity, and a sleek design at an affordable price. With over 500 air purifier brands available, choosing the right one can be overwhelming. For those with larger homes, the Breathing model offers a great experience and is definitely worth considering.
