CEVA releases safety design kit based on ADAS vision processor and conforms to ISO 26262

CEVA, the world's leading provider of cellular, multimedia and wireless connectivity DSP IP platforms, announced the completion of the ISO 26262-compliant security design suite to help customers accelerate the use of CEVA-XM4 graphics and vision DSPs to implement Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Functional certification process. CEVA commissioned YOGITECH, a leading provider of functional safety solutions, to provide Failure Modes Effects and Diagnostical Analysis (FMEDA) reports and to provide recommendations for meeting ASIL B standards. CEVA has licensed CEVA-XM4 DSP processors to customers and is used in the design of automotive critical safety applications. The CEVA-XM4 DSP is currently the only licensable vision processor IP that supports ASIL B's complete security level (ISO 26262 compliant).

The CEVA-XM4 image and vision DSP for vision-based ADAS systems provides system designers with superior processing power and energy efficiency to handle the most complex ADAS algorithms. The CEVA-XM4 is optimized for visual applications such as automotive emergency braking (AEB), free space detection, traffic sign recognition, pedestrian detection and other neural network-based target detection and recognition applications. These applications are critical to ADAS and autonomous driving systems and require ISO certification to ensure their safety and reliability. With the release of this security design kit, customers can accelerate CEIL-XM4-based designs with ASIL certification for greater cost efficiency and reduced risk.
