Recently, Qiangling County, Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province, Qiangling Lighting Co., Ltd. caused conflicts due to labor disputes. Thousands of workers refused to go to work and asked the company to increase overtime pay. More than 100 workers came to the door of the Lishui County government for help because the appeal was not met. Through the coordination and management of the Management Committee of the Lishui Economic Development Zone, the workers have now returned to work and the production order has become normal.

According to the workers of the factory, the company asked the workers to work overtime in the previous period. The working hours were up to 15 hours a day, but the overtime pay was very low, which caused the workers to be dissatisfied. From October 15 to 17, the factory had about 1,000 workers. Stop working. On October 17, more than 100 workers came to the door of the Lishui County government and asked the leaders to help solve the problem.

The relevant person in charge of the personnel department of the company introduced the details of the incident to the reporter. She admits that “there was a lot of orders in the previous period, and the overtime hours of the workers were indeed quite long.” According to her, after the workers got the wages on the 15th, they were dissatisfied with the overtime pay, and about 1,000 workers in a workshop stopped working. On the 16th, some workers blocked the gates of the factory and turned off the power, causing the other two workshops to fail to work properly. The production order of the factory was disrupted. Some production equipment was also damaged due to a sudden power outage. On the 17th, about one or two hundred workers came to the gate of the county government and asked the government to help solve the problem.

Regarding the worker's request for reissue of overtime pay, she explained that the company calculates the employee's salary based on production efficiency, and some employees think that it should be calculated according to working hours. Some of the newly recruited workers are low in work efficiency, resulting in lower overtime wages. There is no arrears of overtime pay.

The relevant person in charge of the Economic Development Bureau of Lishui County Economic Development Zone said that after the labor disputes on the 15th, the management committee intervened and coordinated, and advised the workers to maintain order at the scene. Later, after the management committee and the police, the workers' mood gradually subsided and they resumed normal work on October 18. The company also promised to improve the treatment of workers' food. The reporter interviewed the legal profession that similar workers in labor disputes can apply to the labor inspection department for arbitration and legally safeguard legitimate rights and interests.
