Object as an attribute carrier

Objects can have both functionality and properties (such as settings). When you select an object, you can use it to perform one of the following functions:

• Edit the object using the menu command Edit > Open Object.

• Use the menu command Edit > Object Properties to open the dialog and set object-specific options.

Folders can also be used as a vehicle for attributes.

Object as a folder

A folder (directory) can contain other folders or objects. It will be displayed when the folder is opened.

Object as a functional carrier

When you open an object, a window is displayed in which you can edit the object.

An object is either a folder or a carrier of functionality. One of the exceptions is that stations are both folders (for programmable modules) and the carrier of functions (for configuring hardware).

• If you double-click on a station, the objects contained in it are displayed: programmable module and station configuration (station as a folder).

• If you open a station with the menu command Edit > Open object, you can configure the station to assign parameters (station as a function carrier). The menu command has the same effect as double-clicking on the "Hardware" object.
