On October 18, 2017, the "2017 Global Intelligence and New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Trend Summit" successfully concluded at the 309A Auditorium of the Beijing National Convention Center. The event was sponsored by Jibang Consulting and VehicleTrend, co-organized by Beijing Zhongqi Sifang Co., Ltd., the China International Trade Promotion Association Machinery Industry Branch, Automotive Knowledge Magazine, Global Auto Group, and the China Electrotechnical Society. The summit brought together over 300 industry professionals, including OEMs, auto parts manufacturers, investment firms, and media representatives—far exceeding the initial seating capacity of 200.
This marked the first time that VehicleTrend hosted such a major summit, making it a significant milestone for the organization. Attendees were treated to insightful discussions on the future of smart and new energy vehicles, with key speakers from leading companies and research institutions sharing their perspectives.
The event kicked off with speeches from Mr. Zhou Weidong, Vice President of the Machinery Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Mr. Dong Bang, General Manager of Jibang Consulting Greater China. Following the opening remarks, Automotive Knowledge Magazine and Jibang Consulting signed a strategic partnership agreement, signaling a new era of collaboration between the two organizations.
Dr. Bai Zhongzhe, a consultant from Jibang Consulting's Tuoba Industry Research Institute, delivered an engaging presentation on the development trends of autonomous vehicles. He emphasized that while the industry is on the brink of rapid growth, challenges such as vehicle networking and decision-making in complex environments remain critical areas for improvement.
Mr. Li Lijun, Research Manager at Jibang Consulting’s New Energy Research Center, discussed the evolving landscape of new energy vehicles, highlighting the upcoming reshuffle in the battery industry and the competitive advantages of top-tier companies in terms of energy density and production scale.
ZTE Corporation’s Mr. Tang Xinning shared insights on automotive information security, using the impressive unmanned car battle from *Speed & Passion 8* as a case study. Meanwhile, Mr. Cheng Yabing from NVIDIA’s Automotive Division explored the role of AI in autonomous driving, noting the challenges of real-world lane complexity and the growing reliance on reinforcement learning.
Quanergy’s Mr. Tang Jinsong presented the company’s solid-state lidar solutions, emphasizing that regardless of the path taken toward full autonomy, industrialization remains the most crucial factor. Texas Instruments’ Mr. Jiang Hong provided an overview of ADAS technologies, focusing on the company’s millimeter-wave radar chips for advanced driver assistance systems.
