Recently, the telecommunications sector introduced 169 new packages, including five unlimited data plans. These offerings have significantly alleviated the pressure on China Unicom's 4G data usage and resolved issues with computers not being able to access the internet. My organization is a financial institution based in a secure location, so we've disconnected all external network connections.
However, connecting via mobile hotspot comes with its own set of challenges. Thus, finding a dependable MiFi device became my primary focus during my free time. A search for "China Telecom 4G MiFi" on a shopping platform revealed numerous unknown brands alongside Huawei products, which were the most popular. Most of these devices, however, shared a common drawback—they only supported China Telecom’s 4G network.
Given the lack of confidence in XiaoChang’s quality, I initially opted for Huawei's E5573s-853 model. I purchased a lightly used E5573s for 160 yuan on Free Fish. After two weeks of basic use, I reached the following conclusions:
Advantages: Small size, fine craftsmanship, matte finish resists dirt and wear.
Disadvantages: Short battery life (around 5 hours), weak China Telecom 4G signal, limited App functionality.
Seeking a device with longer battery life and a more stable signal, I turned my attention to MiFi units with large-capacity batteries or integrated mobile power banks. Unfortunately, most online options lacked a modern aesthetic.
While I was deliberating over which MiFi to buy, Aunt Zhang’s recommendations pointed me in the right direction!

Millet’s products are always cost-effective and well-designed. This is exactly what I’m looking for?
Comparing the two ZMI MiFis, the MF855 is the older generation model with a plastic body, 7800mAh battery capacity, priced at 329 yuan; while the MF885 is the latest model, featuring a black metal casing and a 10,000mAh battery capacity, priced at 459 yuan.
In terms of appearance, the MF885 outshines its predecessor with faster charging and a larger battery capacity. Ultimately, I decided to purchase the MF885 from JD.com.
The product received a discount along with coupons and a JD.com flash sale 15-yuan cash discount, bringing the final price down to 369 yuan.
The next morning, I received JD.com’s delivery notification. Quickly collecting the wireless MiFi from the pickup point downstairs, it was still in the typical Xiaomi Kraft cardboard packaging.
The product details were clearly labeled on the carton.
Opening the outer packaging revealed the MF885’s actual packaging, also presented in a card format.
There were numerous holes in the plastic film on the packaging, reminiscent of the plastic film used in the iPhone 4 era.
Tearing the plastic film exposed the full image of the MF885.
The upper part of the device is made of plastic material (better for receiving internet signals), while the lower part is metallic, giving it a substantial feel and excellent detailing.
The bottom of the device features an etched process indicating battery capacity and other information. The large capacity information helps staff quickly determine if the mobile power bank meets airport security standards.
At the top of the device are the power switch, charging port, signal light, and external USB port. This port can serve both as an external output port for the mobile power supply and as an external output interface for the network signal.
The charging cable is attached to the side of the power button using a hidden magnetic plate, showcasing a very delicate design.
The SIM card slot is hidden behind the charging cable, retrieved in the same manner as the iPhone 7, with the same SIM card size.
Experience and Feelings
After inserting the SIM card, connecting the device, and downloading the dedicated App for managing the device:
The management software interface is well-designed, allowing general functions to be set within the app. The power displayed by the App is accurate to 1%, which is more convenient than Huawei’s App, which only shows power levels in increments of 25%.
After 8 hours of continuous use, consuming 1.37GB of data, the device still had 9% of its power remaining. Based on these calculations, continuous use for 50 hours seems feasible. Moreover, compared to the Huawei E5573s, which had no signal, the MF885 maintained two 4G signals, providing normal internet access and reasonable network speeds.
As for the mobile power function, it aligns with other ZMI fast charging standards.
In general, this ZMI MF885 is a product that combines design and practicality. Among competing products, the MF885 undoubtedly stands out as the most competitive. Regretfully, I didn’t purchase it during the crowdfunding period at a lower price.
Summary of Advantages and Disadvantages:
Advantages: Beautiful design, strong endurance, fast charging, powerful remote management.
Disadvantages: Slightly expensive, the plastic portion at the top is prone to wear.
Finally, friends who cherish their belongings, visit the ZMI official flagship store for a 9.9 yuan bag.
