The fixed gas alarm system comprises an alarm controller and a gas detector. The controller is typically positioned in the duty room to oversee and manage the monitoring points. Meanwhile, the gas detector is installed in the areas where gas leaks are most likely to occur. At its core, the detector houses a built-in gas sensor, which plays a critical role in detecting the concentration of gases in the surrounding air. Once the gas concentration is detected, the sensor sends an electrical signal to the controller via a cable. As the gas concentration increases, so does the strength of the electrical signal. When the gas concentration reaches or surpasses the alarm threshold set by the controller, the alarm will sound, potentially triggering an external device like a solenoid valve or exhaust fan to mitigate any potential risks.
Firstly, regarding the transmission distance of the cable, the maximum distance can extend up to 1000 meters. This distance is influenced by factors such as the number of gas detectors and the thickness of the cable used. If a longer range is needed, additional signal amplifiers can be incorporated to boost the transmission capability.
Secondly, the output signals from the detector vary depending on the system configuration. For instance, in a three-wire system, a standard 4-20mA signal is used. In contrast, a two-wire system employs either an M-BUS or RS485 signal, while a four-wire system typically uses RS485 signals or a standard RS485 signal.
Thirdly, common cable specifications differ based on the system type. For a three-wire split line, national standards or non-standard RVV3*1.0-1.5-2.5mm2 cables are generally used. To minimize signal interference, shielded cables like RVVP3*1.0-1.5-2.5mm2 can be employed. Here, the letter R signifies a flexible conductor, while V denotes semi-rigid PVC insulation, and P indicates shielding.
For a four-wire bus system, cables such as RVV4*1.0-1.5-2.5mm2 are standard, and similar to the three-wire system, shielded cables like RVVP4*1.0-1.5-2.5mm2 can be utilized to reduce interference. Lastly, for a two-wire bus system, RVS2*2.5 twisted pair cables are recommended, where S refers to a twisted pair, R to a flexible conductor, and V to PVC insulation.
