Jens G80-sport: The modern Genesis-G80 sports upgrade? Equipped with 3.3T-V6+ four-wheel drive, the Audi A6!

As of now, Hyundai Motor is assembling certain models of the Genesis line through the CKD method (completely knocked down kits imported for domestic assembly). Many high-end luxury vehicles we are familiar with have utilized this CKD approach for initial production before transitioning to full-scale manufacturing within China, signaling an important step towards establishing a fully domestic presence for the Genesis brand. Last year, at the 2016 Busan Motor Show, Hyundai officially unveiled the Genesis G80 Sport. This new model builds upon the Genesis G80 with performance upgrades, featuring a more aggressive exterior design and a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine capable of delivering 370 horsepower. The sleek silhouette of the Genesis G80 Sport is highlighted by a dynamic side profile where the character line flows seamlessly from the front fenders all the way to the taillights, creating a sense of forward momentum. Additionally, the vehicle boasts large-sized black alloy wheels that add both aesthetic appeal and improved handling capabilities. On the front end, the Genesis G80 Sport showcases a horizontally oriented grille that aligns with Hyundai’s contemporary styling cues. Its A-pillars lean sharply backward, contributing to its sporty yet elegant appearance, while the rear exhaust system is finished off with a quad-tip configuration for an assertive finish. Inside, the cabin exudes sophistication with premium materials such as real wood trim and metallic accents adorning the center console. Wrapped in soft leather, the multifunctional steering wheel adds to the luxurious feel. Features like automatic climate control, ventilated seats, heated seating, heated steering wheel, and customizable driving modes ensure comfort and convenience for both driver and passengers alike. Powering the Genesis G80 Sport is a robust 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing 272 kW (370 PS). Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, this setup promises impressive performance. Furthermore, the car comes equipped with adaptive suspension technology borrowed from the larger G90 model, enhancing ride quality across various road conditions. Currently priced between 37.8 million and 64.88 million yuan in the Chinese market for the standard Genesis G80, it's expected that the upcoming G80 Sport variant will carry a premium over its conventional counterpart, potentially starting around 400,000 yuan. This addition not only broadens Hyundai's luxury offerings but also positions itself competitively against rivals like the Audi A6L in terms of performance and refinement.
