Jens G80-sport: The modern Genesis-G80 sports upgrade? Equipped with 3.3T-V6+ four-wheel drive, the Audi A6!

At present, Hyundai Motor is producing certain models of the Genesis line through the CKD method (complete knockdown kits), which involves assembling imported components domestically. This approach has been widely used for high-end luxury models before they begin local production in China. This strategy is seen as a step towards establishing the Genesis brand as a fully domestic entity in the Chinese market. Last year, at the 2016 Busan Motor Show, Hyundai officially unveiled the Genesis G80 Sport. Based on the standard Genesis G80, this new model features a sportier tuning, with an even more aggressive exterior design and a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine. The Genesis G80 Sport boasts a sleek, dynamic profile with its side waistline stretching from the front fenders all the way to the taillights, creating a strong sense of speed and motion. Additionally, it comes equipped with large, black, multi-spoke alloy wheels that enhance both its visual appeal and performance capabilities. In terms of styling, the front grille adopts a horizontal design, aligning with the contemporary aesthetic of the Hyundai Group. The A-pillars are inclined at a sharp angle, contributing to the car's sporty look, while the rear exhaust system is finished with a quad-tip configuration for an added touch of sophistication. Inside, the Genesis G80 Sport offers a refined and stable cabin environment, featuring wood and metal accents on the center console, along with a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel that exudes elegance. The vehicle is equipped with advanced features such as automatic climate control, ventilated seats, heated seats, heated steering wheel, and customizable driving modes. Powering the Genesis G80 Sport is a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine capable of delivering 272 kW (370 PS) of power, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It also incorporates the adaptive suspension system first seen in the G90. Currently, the Genesis G80 is priced between 37.80 and 64.88 million yuan in the Chinese market. When the G80 Sport eventually launches, its price is expected to exceed that of the standard model, potentially reaching around 400,000 yuan. This model represents Hyundai’s effort to expand its presence in the luxury segment, offering a compelling alternative to established competitors like the Audi A6. Its combination of powerful performance and premium features positions it well within the competitive luxury sedan market.
