IP network surveillance camera installation matters

If you want to install an IP network surveillance camera under the existing network architecture, a computer with strong performance is indispensable. You can choose a PC with Windows 95/98 / NT / 2000 or Linux operating system. In addition, Apple Computer is also a good choice. And the computers on the market generally have network support functions and browsers, so users can easily activate the IP network surveillance camera without having to worry about other peripheral devices.

Set a password to increase the security of network transmission

If you want to use the IP network to monitor the camera, it is recommended to set a password to protect the data recorded by the camera; the password can not only prevent the data, but also ensure that the camera operation settings will not be tampered with at will. To be applied in places with higher security requirements, IP network cameras can be connected to computers with special protection measures, and encryption technologies such as HTTPS protocol can be used to ensure the confidentiality of data.

Notes on high-quality images

If you want to capture high-quality images, users should pay attention to the display settings of the computer screen, the screen color must be at least 65.000 bits; in addition, although the flat LED display is very convenient to use, when viewing the image, the effect is instead Inferior to CRT screen. Other high-quality image requirements are as follows:

Use lots of light

In many cases, the poor image quality is due to low illumination. In general, the stronger the light, the higher the quality of the image; and in the weaker light, the color of the image is easy to be monotonous and blurry. Generally professional photographers will use the camera flash to make up for the lack of light.

In addition, although the surveillance camera with higher resolution can work under the condition of less than 1 Lux, this only means that the camera can capture the image at 1 Lux, but it does not mean that it can get good image effect at 1 Lux; To capture high-resolution images, the illuminance must be at least 200 Lux.

Avoid backlight

Generally speaking, the dynamic adjustment capability of the camera is limited, and bright areas on the image should be avoided as much as possible, because a bright image will cause too much exposure and the object will appear too dark.

Reduce contrast

Users can adjust the exposure of the surveillance camera to obtain a more average illuminance.

Installation of outdoor surveillance cameras

If you want to install the IP network surveillance camera outdoors, you need to configure the outdoor casing. Outdoor surveillance cameras generally use automatic zoom lenses, which can adjust the light required by the image sensor, improve the dynamic function of the surveillance camera, and protect the image sensor from damage by strong light.

The precautions for other outdoor IP network surveillance cameras are as follows:

illumination

When using surveillance cameras at night, in order to avoid reflections and shadows, lighting equipment is usually required, and infrared lighting can be used instead of ordinary light bulbs. However, users must use black-and-white surveillance cameras and network surveillance image servers with infrared lighting equipment, because black-and-white surveillance cameras are more sensitive to infrared light, while color surveillance cameras cannot perform infrared functions.

Avoid direct sunlight

Try to avoid direct sunlight in the image. Direct light will make the surveillance camera unable to capture the image, and may permanently discolor the color filter on the sensor chip, and the color will cause streaks in the surveillance image. If possible, keep the surveillance camera in the same direction as the sun during installation, and try to avoid shooting at the sky.

Amplifier gain

The gain level of the surveillance image sensor can be adjusted in the computer. The higher the gain, the better the performance in low light, but the interference will also increase. When the light is weak, the user can use high gain to obtain better performance. When the light quality is good, the user can also use low gain to obtain high-quality surveillance images.

Shutter speed:

Usually the shutter speed should be set to 1/50 or 1/60 seconds; when the light is weak, the exposure time is long, and good performance can be obtained. If you want to capture fast moving images, the shutter speed should be set to 1/10000 second.

There are two main criteria for choosing a suitable lens base for monitoring camera bases:

1. The distance between the CS-mount sensor and the lens should be 12.5mm.

2. The distance between the C-mount sensor and the lens should be 17.5mm. If you cannot focus, you may have selected the wrong type of dock. In addition, users can also use a 5mm collar (C / CS adapter ring) to convert a C-mount lens to a CS-mount lens.

Sensor size

The larger the sensor size, the more expensive the lens; 1/2 "lens is suitable for 1/2", 1/3 "and 1/4" sensors, but not for 2/3 "sensors. The large sensor uses a lens made by a smaller sensor, and the surveillance image will have black corners.

focal length

The focal length is combined with the sensor to form a viewing angle; the small focal length has a wider viewing angle, the larger focal length has a narrow telephoto viewing angle, and the operation must be more precise when adjusting the focus of the telephoto lens.

Lens type

There are three main types of lenses:

1. Single focal length: The focal length is fixed, such as 4mm, 8mm.

2. Zoom lens: The focal length can be adjusted within a certain range, such as 4-10mm; the focus does not change when the focal length changes.

3. Variable focus lens: This is a low-cost zoom lens; when the focal length changes, the lens must be refocused; usually 3.5-8mm. The iris diaphragm is a mechanical device used to adjust the amount of light passing through the lens.

There are three different types of variable aperture in the lens:

1. Manual iris: Turn a ring to adjust the iris.

2. DC automatic iris: the output of the camera adjusts the iris.

3. Image automatic iris: analog image signal adjustment iris; this type is currently not commonly used. Outdoors usually use automatic variable aperture lens, which can protect the image sensor from the damage of strong light.

Network transmission line

PSTN phone mode

It is widely used to connect to external networks. It is cheap and practical, but the transmission speed is not very fast, and sometimes transmission errors will occur, and the data needs to be resent. When downloading files, the maximum speed can reach 56kbit / s, but when uploading files, the maximum speed is 33.6 kbit / s.

ISDN phone mode

The utilization rate in many countries is very high, the maximum transmission speed is 128 kbit / s.

xDSL mode

The xDSL model includes: ADSL, HDSL, IDSL, and VDSL, etc., which are becoming increasingly popular. Both telecommunications service companies and ISP manufacturers provide xDSL transmission mode, as long as they pay a fixed monthly fee, they can connect to the Internet.
