Honeywell develops new thermal management materials to improve LED energy consumption

HoneyWell has announced the development of a new thermal management material that can improve LED energy consumption. This thermal interface material, called LTM 6300-SP, efficiently conducts the heat generated by LED lamps. As the LED volume becomes more and more voluptuous, the reaction speed is getting faster and the power is getting bigger and bigger, the heat generated in the limited space will be more and more, and the damage to the LED performance will be greater, such as the light becomes dim, the color becomes lighter, and the life is longer. Will also be shortened.

The LTM 6300-SP is designed for LED backlights used in LCDs, but packaging technology can be used in many other places, from the automotive industry to the computer industry. Brian Daniels, chief technology officer of the company's Electronic Materials Division, said, "Honeywell is committed to developing energy-efficient technologies, and newly developed thermal management materials can improve the performance of energy-efficient LEDs. The LTM 6300-SP is the first phase developed for the LED industry. The variable material (PCM) series is superior to silicon-based products and typically overflows and degrades at high temperatures."
The basis for the development of phase change materials is Honeywell's packaging technology in the field of thermal management. Honeywell's LTM 6300-SP is primarily used in screen printing to complement Honeywell's other thermal interface products.
