This special fabric inventor is Jin Shanwu, a professor of materials science at Sungkyunkwan University in Korea. According to him, the new fabric actually consists of two materials, one is silver-plated fiber material and the other is zinc dioxide-coated zinc oxide nanorods. Some of our daily activities will cause the two layers of material to rub against each other to produce static electricity.

In fact, the main principle is similar to the friction of the glass rods of our junior high school "Nature". By friction, electrons can be exchanged between the two materials, which in turn produces positive and negative electrodes. When the two materials are separated, a small current is generated.

One of the challenges faced by Professor Jin and his team was to find the materials with the best frictional electrification effect. Finally, they chose the two materials mentioned above. With four layers of stacking, these materials can generate voltages up to 170V and currents of 120 microamps (μA). The tester successfully illuminated the six-inch embedded LED lamp by rubbing the sleeve on the fabric of the shirt sleeve. According to reports, the power can also light the small LCD screen and push the remote control car key.

Although the current technology for using this new type of fabric to generate electricity is still very limited, such as the current is very weak, it is also unlikely to use this less breathable material to make clothes, but we can not find a way to effectively collect in the future. Rub the generated charge and store the charge in the emergency battery pack for temporary use in special situations.
