Germany SICK Introduces Position Sensor OLM Series Based on Bar Code Reading Principle

Following the maturity of the family of laser ranging sensors, SICK recently introduced the linear distance sensor OLM series. By scanning the bar code information on the fixed track, the linear sensor acquires the current position information to quickly and accurately position different trajectories of a straight line or a curved line. This feature of the OLM series offers more options for the application of the logistics industry.

Typical applications such as overhead electric conveyors, track shuttles, turntables and toroidal turntables, lift systems and robotic arms, etc., have become increasingly important for reducing blind spots such as precise positioning at corners. At the same time, it also greatly enhances the ability of reading and resisting ambient light interference. At the same time, the built-in backplane and four mounting screw holes and T-slots provide convenience and cost savings for installation on different occasions. The OLM100 offers a 100 mm +/- 20 mm range for mounting orientation, providing excellent flexibility for reliable positioning in horizontal direction.
