Create your dream kitchen with Pinterest and HoleLens

Microsoft added another person to their list of HoloLense partners. Thanks to the partnership with Lowe, consumers can now use Microsoft's HoloLesense to design their own kitchen in holographic mixed reality.

“Imagine just how a room would look like with a small model and coated version. It feels like it was a long time ago,” said Kyle Nel, CEO of Lowe Innovation Labs.

In addition, another big news is that Microsoft HoloLense will integrate the social network Pinterest into their products.

Pinterest is definitely a hotbed of DIY handmade products and home decoration. According to New York Times, this site now has more than 100 million users and is valued at about US$1.1 billion. So it is not surprising that Microsoft hopes to gain the design inspiration of this group.

The new integration can put together the materials or equipment that exist on your Pinterest account, your selection will match with Lowe's similar products, and finally show you this fully customizable kitchen model room in a holographic manner. .

The Microsoft Surface tablet will also place your design in HoloLens into a physical store designer or your lover. Another advantage of using HoloLens is that it completely liberates the expensive ground and space in the home improvement store.

Lowe's HoloLense partnership is still in the trial stage, but Xiaobian understands that three other unnamed merchants have joined. There are now five stores offering content on HoloLense. However, the HoloLese service is only open on weekends and requires advance booking.

The ultimate goal of this project is to allow consumers to use HoloLense to design their own kitchen in their own home.

Nel said: "What we ultimately hope to achieve is to have a couple design their own kitchen together in their own home in mixed reality."
