0 Introduction Multimedia terminal is a kind of consumer electronic product that plays multimedia files as its main function. The multimedia files include audio, video, FLASH animation, pictures and so on. This paper mainly discusses how to use DirectShow technology to realize streaming media playback on smart devices based on WinCE operating system, and gives test results.

1 Introduction to DirectShow DirectShow is a development kit for streaming media processing in the DirectX development kit. This development kit can capture audio and video and use it to develop DVD applications and digital TV applications. Add a Windows Forms control:
(1) In the View menu, click Designer, or click the View Designer button in the Solution Explorer to switch to the Form Designer.
(2) Add 6 Button controls on the form, mainly used to manipulate the played media files.
(3) Add a TrackBar control on the form to display the progress of the media file playback.
(4) Add a Timer control on the form to calculate the current progress of the media.
(5) Adjust the arrangement of the controls in the form to make it meet the needs and convenient for users, as shown in Figure 2.

4 Experimental results After the above program is compiled, it can be downloaded to the WinCE6.0 system on the development board, and the online video can be played smoothly.
