Service robot overview

According to the definition of the International Robot Federation, a service robot is a semi-autonomous or fully autonomous robot that can help humans complete equipment other than manufacturing processes.

Service robots can be divided into two categories: home service robots and professional service robots, depending on the application field. Home service robots mainly include housekeeping robots , entertainment and leisure robots, assisting and disability robots, etc. Professional service robots mainly include medical robots, rescue robots, inspection and maintenance robots.

In the field of service robots, Japan, South Korea, the United States, and Germany are at the forefront of development. In 2006-2010, Japan invested 10 million US dollars each year to develop service robots; South Korea listed service robot technology as the top ten "engine" industry for future national development; currently 60% of the world-sold military robots are from the United States. .
