3G mobile phone retail share has exceeded 90%

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently released data showing that as of the end of September 2012, China’s 3G users exceeded 200 million, and the number of mobile phone users reached 1.085 billion. It is estimated that mobile phone users will reach 1.1 billion by 2012; in addition, 3G users will be added to our monthly mobile phone users. Has accounted for 70%. In the first half of the year, the number of 3G mobile phones listed was nearly 800. From the perspective of shipments, mobile phones shipped 200 million units in the first half of the year, of which 3G mobile phones accounted for nearly 55%.

According to Zhong Yekang's monitoring data on major home appliance retail channels throughout the country, as of September 2012, the retail share of 3G mobile phones has increased from 46.5% to 74.9% a year ago, and the share of retail sales has also increased from 69.7 a year ago. % increased to 91.1%.

Industry analyst Yang Ruibing said that in 2012, the domestic 3G network construction has basically completed its completion, and 3G network optimization and 3G value-added services have begun to develop on a large scale. The further reduction of tariffs and the continuous decline in the prices of end products all provide impetus for the rapid development of 3G. The price drop of 3G mobile phones far exceeds market expectations. Currently, the price of 3G smart phones on the market can already meet the needs of consumers at all levels. The price of 3G smart phones with 3.5-inch screens has been as low as 400 yuan or less, and the price of 3G smart phones with 4-inch screens has hovered around 500 yuan. The domestic first-line brands are among them; at the same time, operators' call subsidies are more pleasing. With regard to consumer demand, terminal handset prices are no longer a factor that restricts the development of 3G. Instead, they provide security and motivation for 3G development.

Yang Ruibing said that since the beginning of the third quarter, manufacturers have made big fuss on mobile phone screens. At present, new smart phones launched by major brands are all moving closer to the big screen. 4.3-inch, 4.5-inch, and 4.8-inch screens are currently the mainstream screen configurations. Products with 5-inch screens and above are constantly increasing; and the emergence of 1080P HD products has completely satisfied people's requirements for vision; it is expected that 1080P high-definition large-screen products will become the future direction of 3G mobile phones.
