The Twelfth Five-Year Plan Paves the Way for China's LED Lighting Industry to Advance

The vigorous promotion of the government has paved the way for the advancement of the Chinese LED industry. How to guide the healthy and orderly development of the industry has become a topic of common concern between the government and the industry. In the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", three major elements have been proposed for promoting the development of the LED industry, namely: to increase the luminous efficiency of LED chips, to strengthen the patented white LED layout, and to accelerate the development of LED lighting standards.

In 2010, China's LED industry as a whole grew significantly, from approximately 82.7 billion yuan in 2009 to 120 billion yuan, and the annual growth rate of output value exceeded 70%, which is much higher than the 50% growth rate of the global LED lighting industry. Among them, the development of the middle and lower reaches of the industrial chain is the most complete, accounting for 90% of the total output value. It is estimated that by 2015, China will have a 600 billion yuan RMB annual LED-industry scale of over 100 billion kWh. However, at present, the market share of China's LED lighting for home lighting is less than 1%. Therefore, since 2010, China has increased the support of LED to enter the family, led by the three ministries and commissions organized 28 LED production enterprises, signed an agreement to participate in the local government in 2011 to promote the 50 LED products into the family demonstration project.

In terms of improving the luminous efficiency of LED chips, domestic chip manufacturing technology still lags far behind international manufacturers. The source of LED chips used is mainly foreign-owned. Strengthening the LED upstream industry, mainly chip manufacturing, is a top priority. The “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” expects to achieve the goal of increasing the chip self-production rate to 70% and the proportion of LED lighting up to 20% in 2015, and making the LED upper and middle The downstream production value reached 500 billion yuan.

At present, China’s export of lighting fixtures ranks second in the world. In the future, if it sells LEDs to other countries, it will face patent issues. However, at present, the number of effective patents in the country is also more than that of foreign manufacturers, whether inward or outward, The future of white LED patents needs to be strengthened. In addition, in accelerating the development of LED lighting standards, given the implementation of the "Eleventh Five-Year" plan of the Ten City Ten Thousand Projects, due to the uneven quality of LED lighting caused by poor implementation, it is accelerated to implement LED lighting standards, with a view to the future Can have stable quality LED lighting products.
