The intelligent gateway is responsible for the conversion of information between Ethernet and ZigBee or JenNet IP networks. It is the backbone of communication between the two networks. With intelligent gateway, Ethernet can easily control, access, and upload information of ZigBee and JenNet-IP network intelligent lighting nodes, and then connect to the cloud via Internet router, so that smart terminals can be monitored in real time through mobile phones, computers, etc. For example, the intelligent lighting (smart light bulb) node on the ZigBee/JenNet-IP network can be controlled by the mobile phone APP via this gateway, and the mobile APP can also query all the states of the current intelligent lighting node.

The NXP LPC3240 ARM9 processor in the smart gateway launched by Dalian Dapin uses an ARM926EJ-S CPU with Harvard architecture, 5-stage pipeline and complete memory management unit (MMU) operating at up to 266 MHz. Includes 256 kB of on-chip static RAM, a NAND flash interface, an Ethernet MAC, an external bus interface that supports SDR and DDR SDRAM, and other static devices. In addition, the LPC3240 includes a USB 2.0 full-speed interface, 7 UARTs, 2 I2C bus interfaces, 2 SPI/SSP ports, 2 I2S bus interfaces, 2 single output PWMs, 1 motor controlled PWM, 6 with capture inputs and Compare the output's general purpose timer, an SD interface, and a 10-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with touch screen detection options.

Another core component of the intelligent gateway solution is NXP's JN5168, an ultra-low-power 32-bit RISC high-performance wireless microcontroller with 256 KB of embedded flash, 32 KB of RAM and 4 KB of EEPROM memory. It integrates a 2.4 GHz IEEE802.15.4 compliant transceiver with a variety of analog and digital peripherals, 15 mA operating current and 0.6 μA sleep timer for excellent battery life and direct power from a single button cell. JN5168 supports JenNet-IP, ZigBee Home AutomaTIon, ZigBee Smart Energy, ZigBee Light Link, RF4CE and IEEE802.15.4 network protocol stacks.
