China promotes the development of international norms in the field of Internet publishing

On August 10, the National Standardization Management Committee and the Ministry of Transport jointly announced in Beijing that the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) officially released ISO/PAS18186. This is the first item that is proposed by China and is actively promoted, and is officially released by the ISO.

According to the introduction of the National Standards Commission, the specification is called "ISO/PAS 18186: Container-RFID Freight Tag System" and is headed by the "Crusher King" and is responsible for drafting.

“This international norm comes from the technological innovation of Shanghai Port — the container electronic tag.” Bao Qifan, Vice President of Shanghai International Port Group introduced the system is essentially a kind of Internet of Things with containers as the target of tracking. The combination of labels (RFID) and the Internet can provide cargo owners, ports, shipping companies, customs, commodity inspections, and other related entities with real-time status information about containers as they pass through various logistics nodes, and realizes information from containerization to perception of container transportation. The reforms have an important role in improving the transparency, safety and efficiency of container logistics.

The so-called electronic tag is to put an "electronic lock" on the container. It looks like a small square box. When it is packed, it uses a mobile reading and writing device to write container information, cargo information and logistics information into the box. The information will be automatically read by the container after passing through the port crossing and dock crane, and will be displayed on a dedicated website. Shippers, shipping companies, port parties, and government regulators can all inquire. If the container is opened illegally midway, the web page will immediately display a red alarm.

Since 2001, Bao Qifan has led scientific research teams to carry out research on container electronic labeling systems. On December 3, 2005, China’s first container route with an electronic tag officially set sail to complete the real environment application from Shanghai to Yantai; in 2006, the project expanded from the combination of electronic tags and local area networks to the Internet; 2007 On November 20th, 2008, the China-US international container route electronic tag system began to be measured. On March 10, 2008, the “Ningbo Ningbo” ship sailed from Shanghai Port to Savannah Port of the United States and began the world's first container electronic tag. Commercial operations on international routes. Since then, manufacturers, logistics companies, and cargo owners in Canada, Japan, Russia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other countries have actively found Shanghai Port and requested the opening of e-label routes.

The official release of the Internet of Things (IoT) international standard indicates that China’s Internet of Things has been freed from a simple concept construction and has entered a practical stage of operation. As the emerging industry in China, the Internet of Things will surely become the focus of competition.
