CCL plant price pressure increase PCB factory optimistic expectation

Continued decline in international copper prices, affecting the price of copper foil in July, and the price of electronic grade fiberglass cloth is no longer higher, copper foil substrate manufacturers will face price pressure in the third quarter, will help the printed circuit board (PCB) plant Relieve cost pressures.

International copper prices have risen since the second half of last year and continued until April of this year. The price of copper foil has also risen. Copper-clad substrate (CCL) plant not only reflected the cost of copper foil this year, but also another important raw material, electronic grade fiberglass cloth. Due to the tight supply of upstream electronic grade fiberglass yarns and the escalating price, the price of CCL has also been shouting all the way up to May, spurring related companies to pay dazzling transcripts in the first quarter.

But it brought heavy cost pressures to the lowest-end PCB plant. This year, CCL’s gains ranged from 30% to 40%. Some PCB makers emphasized the erosion of profits in the second quarter and the gross profit margin would be even more pronounced. Fortunately, it was June. Some CCL prices have been lowered.

In May and June, the international copper price weakened. This year, CCL, which has continued to increase prices, experienced some price drop in June. There is still pressure to reduce prices in July. The PCB factory also looks forward to optimism.

The price of CCL, an important raw material copper foil, declined for two months. However, the price of another important raw material, electronic grade fiberglass cloth, still seems to remain unchanged. In July, CCL may not follow up the price reduction of copper foil, especially CCL leading enterprises. Still did not call for price cuts.

Reflecting the slowdown in downstream PCB demand at the CCL plant, it is still actively resisting the demand for electronic-grade fiberglass cloth factories seeking to increase prices in July. Rovings and thick fabrics are still in short supply on the market. Although CCL still has opinions on the price increase, it seems that the price will not fall, and at least it will remain high. At present, it is estimated that the June revenue can be rewritten to historical highs for four consecutive months.
