With the continuous development of white LED applications and the development of the mainland packaging industry, the market size of GaN-based chips will continue to grow at an impressive rate every year. The prospects for the epitaxial materials and chip manufacturing industry are very optimistic. At the same time, we must also see that because Taiwan's chip manufacturers still dominate the scale, technology, products and market share, the competition faced by mainland manufacturers is still very fierce, and the operating environment is very bad. In the next few years, the healthy development of LED epitaxial materials and chip manufacturing in the Mainland will depend on solving the problems of scale effect and technical effect. Pay attention to scale and technical effects On the scale effect issue, the LED industry as a relatively simple electronics industry also has the characteristics of high fixed cost in the electronics industry, especially the high cost of equipment, and the speed of equipment replacement is relatively fast. How to make the company have the ability to self-renewal as soon as possible, and continue to maintain cost competitiveness, the company must continue to expand production scale. Expanding the scale of production will not only dilute the fixed costs, but also reduce the funds through depreciation and then invest in new equipment to enhance the competitiveness of the company.

Domestic manufacturers are generally small in scale. It is not easy to maintain operating gross profit. It is very difficult to rely on spontaneous accumulation and development. The capital increase or expansion of existing enterprises or business combination should be one of the keys to the healthy development of the LED industry in the future, and then have real competitiveness. The state should provide necessary policy concessions and financial assistance for the financing, fund raising and investment of existing enterprises, and create an environment for corporate mergers and acquisitions. At the same time, it is necessary to limit small-scale and low-level redundant construction to concentrate resources on existing industrialized enterprises so that they can become bigger and stronger. In terms of technical effects, technology not only determines the cost of the product, but also determines its selling price. Technology is the key to profitability. Under certain conditions, how to improve the technical level, improve the cost performance, and increase the gross profit margin are the most concerned by all companies. In terms of research and development, through the “10th Five-Year” scientific and technological research project, the state has certain support for the semiconductor lighting field and achieved relatively good results. For example, in the second half of 2005, China's high-power chips with energy production efficiency greater than 30lm/W have shortened the gap with advanced foreign countries to a certain extent. However, in other respects, such as the brightness, antistatic ability, leakage resistance and quality control level of the general chip, there is still a big gap with international manufacturers. In the next few years, the country will not only support the low-cost, high-efficiency and high-power chip manufacturing technology required for future semiconductor lighting, but also support enterprises to continuously upgrade the basic process equipment level and technical level, because the basic process equipment and technical conditions determine the bulk standard. The performance of the chip, and these chips are still the key to supporting the development of the entire industry.

Losing the industrial base on which enterprises depend for survival and development, any advanced semiconductor lighting research and development projects, industrialization projects and achievements are only in the air, ignoring the industrial base, enterprises and research units can only be "projects for projects", "for results And the results, and the high-tech enterprises born from these projects and achievements, because there is no room for survival, can finally escape the "empty" ending in a few years.
