Foreword: In the past, I didn’t come across any specific guides for getting a Huawei set-top box into recovery (REC) mode while browsing forums. Now, different models seem to have their own unique ways of entering REC mode, so I decided to write a new post detailing both methods for getting a Huawei Wyatt set-top box into recovery mode. Both methods require the use of a remote control. There are currently two types of remotes available. One is a longer white one, and the other is a slightly shorter black one, as shown below:

1. Entering REC Mode with the White Remote:
After turning on the set-top box, press the power button at the back to activate it, then press the blue "standby" button repeatedly (like crazy!). You'll briefly see the REC mode displayed.

2. Entering REC Mode with the Black Remote:
(1) Once the set-top box is powered on, press the rear power button to turn it on, followed by continuously pressing the red power button rapidly. It should quickly enter REC mode.

(2) After powering on the set-top box, press the power button on the back of the device, then press the "left and right" keys on the remote control in sequence: "left, right, left, right." This method has a higher failure rate and requires quick reflexes. It might take several attempts (around 8-9 rounds) before succeeding. Having two hands is recommended here, one for each action.

Once you've successfully entered REC mode, let's look at what the options mean:
- Update from External Storage
- Update from Backup Application
- Clear Dalvik Cache
- Restore Factory Settings
- Clear User Data Folder
- Restart Set-top Box
If you're planning an upgrade, you can choose option 1 or 2. If the system crashes and the box keeps restarting, you can try restoring factory settings by selecting option 4 or 5. It’s important to note that some users may encounter variations in the REC mode interface depending on their specific box model. For instance, the 1 and 2 options in some REC modes correspond to "Shuangqing" and factory reset settings. If your interface differs from the ones shown in the images, it's advisable to translate the English and Chinese labels to understand what each option means before proceeding.
