Global Lighting launches new LED

Introduction: The new series of single LED molding uses Global Lighting Technologies' patented MicroLens(TM) technology to provide higher brightness than other LED-based backlighting solutions. More efficient, reducing part count and lower cost.
The MicroLens(TM) backlight can be used from 0.24" to 15.4" and is available in monochrome, two- or three-color backlights. Applications include miniature displays for digital cameras and camcorders, 3rd generation mobile phone displays, PDA keyboard backlights, programmable touch screen thermostats, home security system control keyboards, fishing gear, instrumentation and control displays, automotive interior display lighting And even desktop monitors. MicroLens(TM) based lamp extraction technology provides the highest efficiency utilization of current LEDs, providing fully integrated higher brightness, better color, thinner (0.60 mm or less) backlight modules, lower power consumption and significant cost advantages.

The MicroLens(TM) molded light pipe backlight uses state-of-the-art and efficient light extraction technology to provide a unique "transition" zone that extracts precise light at each traversing panel. MicroLens(TM) light pipes are developed in a very thin package that allows chip-on-glass or chip-on-flex LCDs or the entire display to be easily assembled for most applications. This can reduce part count and assembly and material costs.
