Famous Chinese architect--Yang Yinxi

Yang Yinxi (1899 ~ 1978)
Mr. Yang Xiwei, a native of Wu County, Jiangsu Province, holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University. From 1924 to 1929, Kaitai Construction Company, which was opened in Huangyuanji, was an architect. In 1930, he established Yang Xiyu Architects in Shanghai and was the publisher of China Architecture magazine. In 1934, he was the chief editor of Shanghai's "Declaration" architectural special issue. In 1948, he relocated to Kaitai Construction Company. In 1949, he co-organized a joint architect firm with Gu Pengcheng and others. In 1951, he joined the Beijing Architectural Design Institute as the chief architect and three-room director. In 1964, he was transferred to the Municipal Planning Bureau and later returned to the City Construction Institute.
His main architectural design works include: Shanghai Sino-French Newspaper, Shanghai Special Court, Bailemen Ballroom, National Shanghai Business School, Nanjing Hotel, Metropolitan Garden Restaurant, Beijing Sun Palace Gymnasium, Tennis Hall, Beijing Workers Stadium, Beijing Workers Sports taste Beijing Taoranting swimming and taste the Beijing Red Scarf Lake outdoor swimming pool and other projects.
Mr. Yang Xiwei was a representative of the Beijing Municipal People's Congress and the first, second, third and fourth directors of the China Architecture Society.
Mr. Yang Xiyu died in Beijing in 1978.
