BYD launched the new A-class electric car e5 at the previous Shanghai Auto Show. The taxi version for the public service field has recently entered the Beijing market. Netcom has learned from BYD dealers that the e5 for the private consumer market is expected to be officially launched next month. It is reported that the overall appearance and body size of the car is basically the same as BYD's speed sharp. The A-class pure electric vehicle is positioned and the cruising range can reach 300 kilometers. From the level of view, the car will compete with Geely Emgrand EV and other models after its launch.
The overall appearance continues the sharp design. The difference in the details is that the front face of the new car is not equipped with LED daytime running lights, and the rear end of the car is canceled. In addition, the front face of BYD e5 adopts the upper air intake grille with double-wing shape, and the lower grille has a black mesh structure with matte fog light zones on both sides, and the visual effect is more coordinated. In addition, the car's double five-spoke aluminum alloy wheels and the tail horizontal chrome trim add a dynamic and visual luxury to the car.
The interior is dominated by black and silver, and the center console is decorated with conventional physical buttons and silver plaques. It is equipped with a wealth of features, but it is slightly cumbersome visually. In addition, the car is equipped with a multi-function steering wheel, which also integrates a wealth of physical buttons to facilitate the driver to operate the car's various functions. The interior of the exposure is a rental version. It is expected that the interior of the personal version will be closer to BYD's quick-cut interior design and equipped with a large-size touch screen to meet the needs of domestic consumers.
The length, width and height data respectively reach 4680*1765*1500 mm, and the wheelbase reaches 2660 mm. The data is exactly the same as BYD's current speed sharp. Compared with the Geely Emgrand EV, which is also a Class A pure electric vehicle, the size data does not suffer. With excellent size data, after reasonable optimization and design, BYD e5 can bring better performance to the driving space and storage space of the car. The luggage volume reaches 450 liters, which can meet the daily travel needs of consumers.
In terms of power, the BYD e5 is equipped with an iron battery (iron manganese phosphate battery). Compared with ternary materials, its iron-lithium battery technology has the advantages of high voltage, high bulk density, high cycle life and low cost. BYD's e6 is also equipped with the same technology power battery pack. The BYD e5 is equipped with a motor with a maximum power of 160 kW, a peak torque of 310 Nm, a top speed of 130 km/h and a cruising range of 300 km under combined conditions. From the comparison of various parameters, its performance is better than the listed Geely Emgrand EV.
In the market segment where BYD e5 is located, the listed models include Changan Yidong EV, Geely Dorsett EV, etc., and e5 will compete with it after listing. In terms of selling price, the price range before the latter two subsidies is 22-25 million yuan. If the official guide price of BYD e5 falls within the range, it will have a good combination of design, interior space and cruising range. Competitive advantage, the new car will become a cost-effective product after its launch.
